There are two parts to this weeks homework – one relating to news and one relating to Christmas. On the homework sheet I asked you to go to the class message board – BUT – you could enter your replies here at this blog. You will need to click on the link underneath this post (it will say either “no reponses yet” or “___ response so far”. When you click on the link you will get a box to write your answers in. Sign it with your initials.

Part One:
Find something interesting in the newspaper to share. It may be an online newspaper or one of our local ones. You may either write about it or share it online.

Part Two:
There are a number of traditional things we do at Christmas time. Choose ONE tradition and find out as much information as you can about it. You can either write the information on this sheet or in your homework book; write it into the Christmas message discussion thread (read the instructions first) OR write it up on the computer and email it to me (or as a comment in this blog). Some traditions include: cards, presents, dinner, trees, crackers, carols, stockings.

Today we had an emergency evacuation practice for when there was a real emergency.The emergency bell went at 2.00 to give a signal for everyone to go to the backfield.The teachers called the roll to make sure that everyone in the classroom was safe. Finally the teachers told us we could go back to our class.There were heaps of parents waiting outside the gates to pick their children up.At about 2.15 there was only 10 children left in the classroom. We didn’t get to go home with our parents unless your parents name was on the list.It was fun when there was only 10 children because we did not have to do any work for the rest of the day.

Don’t forget Friday is MUFTI DAY – this is so that we can swap over the uniform shirts on that day so you need to remember to bring your school shirt/s with you – please have them washed.

Talk with your parents about using video in the classroom. What ways can video help us to learn? What are ways that we can use video to share information with others? What would those videos look like?

but we did celebrate TLAPD in style – we even made a pirate ship which is still in our classroom – some people get to sit in it during SSR time.
